My product standards are generally higher than most software providers. There's nothing particularly special about my standards, it's just that most software providers don't apply all of these standards for one reason or another. Some points to consider are:
I try to pay attention to the little details while also trying to maintain the overall goal of the software. Eliminating annoying little things like spelling errors, grammatical errors, mysterious hangs or other obvious problems go a long way towards ensuring a pleasant experience with my software.
I don't cookie cut or churn out software just to make a quick buck. Quality software can't be built by one person in a few weeks without sacrificing something in return. It takes months of hard work to ensure a product is really as good as it should be.
I believe software should just work when you get it. Software that crashes or causes other problems during installation or when first launched, when installed on a computer that isn't exhibiting routine problems, or software that isn't easily accessible isn't worth your time or money.
I try to fix any bugs or other problems with my software as soon as possible, as opposed to covering the problems up with fancy new features like most other software providers do. The best time to fix a problem is as soon as you know about it.
My products are a reflection of me as a programmer and I take great pride in providing the best quality product possible at a reasonable price. Some software providers charge a lot more just because they know they can fool people into buying their product.
